Getting Started
Reaching out is the first step. Here is what to expect.
We know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming — especially if it's your first time. At Living Well Counseling & Consulting, we've designed our intake process to be as simple, transparent, and comfortable as possible. Here's exactly what to expect.
How It Works
Reach Out
Fill out our contact form, give us a call at (239) 940-7025, or send an email. However feels most comfortable for you. We typically respond within 24 hours. Please note that all scheduling is done by phone or online — our offices are by appointment only and do not accept walk-ins.
Free Consultation
We'll schedule a brief phone call to learn about what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and discuss logistics like insurance and scheduling. This is free and carries no obligation.
Get Matched
Based on your needs, preferences, and availability, we'll match you with the clinician who's the best fit. If you already have someone in mind from our team page, just let us know.
Your First Session
Your first appointment is about building rapport and establishing a foundation. Your therapist will get to know you, understand your goals, and begin developing a personalized plan. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Read more about what to expect.
Ongoing Care
Therapy is a process, not a one-time event. You and your therapist will meet regularly — typically weekly or biweekly — to work toward your goals. Your plan evolves as you do.
Insurance & Payment
We accept most major insurance plans to make therapy as accessible as possible:
Currently out-of-network with Sunshine Health and Ambetter — credentialing in progress. We provide superbills for potential reimbursement.
Not sure if we take your plan? No problem. Contact us and we'll verify your benefits at no charge. We also accept self-pay clients.
What to Bring to Your First Session
Your first appointment is mostly about conversation — no need to prepare a presentation. But it may be helpful to have the following ready:
- Your insurance card (if using insurance)
- A valid photo ID
- Any completed intake paperwork (we'll send this ahead of time if applicable)
- A general idea of what's bringing you to therapy — even if it's hard to put into words
That's it. We take care of the rest.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee. If you have questions about our policy, don't hesitate to ask.
